ENTRY 5: SUBCULTURES
Webtoons The Smartphone has helped some subcultures to be born and give us more entertainment, “Webtoon” is a digital platform where you can read (it is like a comic but is digital and contains music in some of the stories). Since this is an app that you can use on your phone it makes it easier for them to use this. In South Korea it is pretty common to find people reading this in subways, streets, taxis, etc. They tend to like anime or animation things. This platform can give you any kind of genre you want to read since it is an open space where any creator can post their work (it contains pictures, dialogs, animation, etc-just to clarify that is not like reading a normal book-). Some of these "webtoons" have been adapted to K-dramas. K-POP Another quite marked subculture in South Korea is K-pop. K-pop is one of the most representative musical genres in Korea, it is a fairly large subculture as there are many artists and bands that are dedicated to its creation...
